A review of Grafton Hotel by Travelodge Reject written on Monday 20th of February 2006
I did not choose to stay at the Grafton Hotel Cambridge - I was dumped there by Travelodge as a result of their new policy of deliberate overbooking.
I am 59 and not in particularly good health but after an exhausting day I was being discarded to a hotel I had never heard of, in an inconvenient part of Cambridge (for me), and I had no choice in the matter.
I have been a Travelodge business customer for 20 years and spent thousands of pounds with them, but I will never stay in a Travelodge again.
So, what about the Grafton? The bedroom was clean and adequate, but there wasn't enough space for me to spread my papers out and complete the work that I needed to do, there were noisy people drinking outside my window until midnight, and there was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom.
So I won't be staying there again either..
