A review of The Eagle by Matt written on Tuesday 24th of January 2006
The Eagle is a lovely and fascinating building, the signatures and squadron names on the ceiling of the RAF bar do make you think.. Its OK for lunchtimes, though the food isn't a culinary delight, it does the job. The beer isn't great either, if you like properly presented ale, but is not undrinkable.
The only real problems occur on Friday and Saturday evenings. Not only does the pub become grossly overcrowded, but the bouncers seem both unbelievably arrogant and randomly agressive. If they've been trained then they've forgotten it all. I had heard stories, and always thought they were apocryphal, until I saw it for myself..
